(LEAVE RULES) ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

• Parents/Students are responsible for making up all the work missed during their absence.
  
• Parents should refer to the school planner and accordingly plan their holiday/vacation so that their child's studies are not hampered.
  
• A student who has been absent on the previous day will not be allowed to attend class unless his/her parent has entered an explanation stating the reason for the absence in the 'Record of Non-Attendance' section of the almanac for each day the student has been absent from School (valid for two days).
  
• If the student reports to the school after an absence without an explanation in the almanac, the parents will be called to the school to take the child back home.
  
• Absence from school for more than six consecutive days is not allowed except on medical grounds. Medical certificate and prescription (photocopies) should be attached in case of absence on medical grounds.
  
• A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should produce a doctor's fitness certificate permitting him/her to attend the school.
  
• Repeated absence without notice or unexplained absence without a written application for more than six consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off from the school rolls. Re-admission may only be granted after the approval by the Head of the School and after the payment of the re-admission fee.
  
• There is no provision for a half-day leave. Therefore, students who are not well should not be sent to the school, even on the days of assessments.
  
• No application will be entertained requiring the student to leave the School premises for any personal / social functions, such as marriages, birthdays, going out of station, pujas, etc. Parents are requested to regulate their schedules accordingly.
  
• If, due to particular exigencies, a student has to leave the School during school working hours, the following rules will be observed:
  
  • The parent must submit a written request.
    
  • The Head should approve the same.
    
  • The parents must sign the School Leaving Register.
    
  • A Permission Slip / Gate Pass must be obtained and shown at the school gate before leaving the campus.
    
• Students who require medical attention during school hours may be sent to the School Infirmary by the concerned teacher, who will enter the nature of the complaint and sign the 'School Infirmary Record' section of the almanac.
  
• Parents will be promptly informed in the event of a severe illness or an emergency and may be asked to come to the School to take their child back home if necessary.
  
• ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND SCHOOL ON THE FIRST AND THE LAST WORKING DAYS, AFTER AND BEFORE EACH VACATION.
  
• It is mandatory for all students unless instructed otherwise, to be present for festivals and functions celebrated in the School.
  
• It is compulsory for students to earn 75% attendance in each term to be eligible to take the mid-term & annual exams. This condition can only be relaxed on genuine medical grounds or because of a family emergency, but only at the sole discretion of the Head of the School. In both cases, the parents must inform the School of any such instances.
  
• Students who fail to fulfill any of the above criteria for any of the exams will be debarred from that exam and marked zero (0) for the same in the report card. Any requests in this regard will not be entertained.
  
• Students with 100% attendance will be awarded a medal and a certificate at the end of the academic session.
  
• Students' Long Leave Policy - Long leave of up to three months can only be granted to students on written approval by the Head of the School in writing for exceptional cases only. However, no exemption will be given in the School Fee on any grounds whatsoever.
